Some people explore a city through its museums. I apparently need to pick up its heavy objects first. Atlanta delivered at The Training Room ATL. Landmine University work, rotational training, deadlifts, traditional linear lifts, a little parkour, and finally a chance to play with Freedom Strength sandbags. Nothing quite like wrestling a bag of shifting weight to remind you that your strength may have a few terms and conditions. A little bit of everything. Not too much of anything. The goal was to move, explore, and enjoy being capable. After nearly 15 years of coaching, I still appreciate a session where strength and athleticism get to share the floor. Lift something heavy. Rotate. Jump. Navigate an obstacle. Give your body a few different problems to solve. There’s value in focused programming, and there’s value in remembering why you enjoyed moving in the first place. A big thank-you to owner Amber Goppert for the hospitality and for making this traveling coach feel welcome. I’m sorely disappointed to miss Bellfest, but to everyone taking part, have an absolute blast. Put in a few good reps for me. Then it was around the corner to Snooze A.M. for a fantastic protein bowl and some incredible French toast. The bowl supported the training. The French toast supported morale. Both departments reported excellent results. If you’re training in town, give The Training Room ATL a visit, then head to Snooze for breakfast. That’s a morning in Atlanta I’d happily repeat. Start Fast. Finish Strong. Live Kinetically.
